Introduction
Sometimes I look at myself, and I see my mistakes.
I see my fears.
I see my past.
I see the things I am still struggling with.
And I ask myself quietly:
“What does Christ see when He looks at me?”
Because what I see in myself is not always kind.
But I am learning that Christ does not look at me the way I look at myself.
He Does Not See My Fear
I often feel fear about life.
Fear about the future.
Fear about whether I am enough.
But when Christ looks at me, He does not see fear.
He sees someone He is teaching to trust Him.
He sees someone He is walking with, step by step.
He Does Not See My Past
There are things I have gone through that have shaped me.
Things I did not choose.
Things that left marks on my heart.
But Christ does not look at me and stop at my past.
He looks beyond it.
He sees that my story is not finished.
He sees that I am still becoming.
He Sees Me in My Weakness
I don’t always feel strong.
Sometimes I feel like I should be better by now.
Sometimes I feel like I am still learning the same lessons.
But
He is patient with me.
He stays close to me even when I feel small inside.
He Sees Hope in Me
Where I see delay, He sees growth.
Where I see confusion, He sees direction.
Where I see struggle, He sees purpose being shaped.
Even when I cannot see tomorrow clearly, He already holds it.
He Sees Me With Love
This is the hardest truth for me to understand.
Christ does not look at me with disappointment.
He looks at me with love.
A love that does not change when I fail.
A love that stays when I feel unworthy.
A love that keeps calling me closer.
Conclusion
So what does Christ see when He looks at me?
He sees someone He loves.
He sees someone He is not done with.
He sees someone He is still shaping.
And I am learning slowly that I don’t have to see myself perfectly to be loved perfectly.
Because Christ already sees me through love.
